Web-based platform starts new chapter for school libraries
Several Pennsylvania school districts have pooled together their money to launch a $30,000 project giving students access to electronic and audio books through the Web-based platform OverDrive. The service is free and gives students access to the books anytime, anyplace. Educators say the technology will allow school libraries to expand students' access to materials and eliminate the hassles of lost books and late fines. The Express-Times (Easton-Bethlehem, Pa.)
