Google Chromebooks are gaining favor among educators
The Torrance and Redondo Beach school districts in California have taken steps to provide Google Chromebooks for students -- a departure from the highly publicized move in Los Angeles to purchase iPads for students. Officials say the Chromebooks, so-called thin-client devices that resemble mini laptops and operate in the cloud, are becoming an increasingly popular choice for schools nationwide.
