What to expect when schools launch iPad programs
In this blog post, Jennifer Krzystowczyk describes the process her Nebraska school district used to integrate iPads into classroom instruction. The district purchased sets of 30 iPads for about 16 teachers, according to the instructional technology facilitator. She and others found iPads bring the need for educators to undertake added reflection, pace themselves, deal with obstacles, embrace change, be open to creativity and collaborate. Free iPad app raises the bar for flipped instruction
Massachusetts teacher Natasha Rausch was intent on flipping her classroom but says her early attempts to create instructional videos from scratch were of poor quality. At a summer workshop, Rausch was introduced to the free iPad application Knowmia Teach, which allows teachers to create video presentations and publish them on the app's website. Now, Rausch uses the app to make homework videos, boil down textbook information and help students prepare for tests. T.H.E. Journal (10/9)Bookmark and Share
