Ideas for teaching close reading on devices - courtesy of ASCD SmartBrief








Teaching students to use close-reading strategies for digital texts has become
 necessary as more online versions of textbooks, educational materials and state assessments are being used, said Devin Hess of the University of California at Berkeley History-Social Science Project. Strategies include using Google Docs to outline and highlight texts that support students' writing and discussions.
